THORPE COOMBE MATERNITY HOSPITAL.
CLINICAL REPORT FOR 1941.
Following the evacuation of many expectant mothers in the late
months of 1940, bookings for confinement in the Hospital, for
the first four months of this year, were reduced to about
66 per cent, of the usual figure. In the second half of the year
they were again at pre-war level. It has since been found
necessary to restrict bookings, in order that the upper Block
shall be occupied only by ambulant patients, who could - in the
event of an air raid - walk to the Shelter Room in the Nurses Home.
