Dr. Sheppard reports as follows:-
Facilities for massage, dental, orthopaedic, ophthalmio and
aural treatment were, taken full advantage of.
A Representative from the South-Eest Essex Technical College
attended the Welfares regularly and gave the mothers great
assistance in wartime cookery.
Thanks are again due to the voluntary workers who have been
very faithful and helpful
The attendances at the Ante-Natal Clinics increased towards
the end of 1941 and several extra sessions had to be arranged.
The Evacuation Scheme for Expectant Mothers has worked smoothly.
During 1941, 52 mothers were evacuated.
Every effort is made to see each mother during the week previous
to her departure.
99 .ante-Natal Sessions were held in 1941 and 897 attendances
made.

Nurse Children.- At the end of 1941 there were 40 nurse
children on the register, compared with 48 at the end of 1940.
During the year 14 removed, 4 were adopted, and 4 reached the
age of nine years. 11 new children were registered. There
were no deaths among nurse children during 1941.
Massage.- Five massage sessions per week were held at the
Welfare Centres, i.e., Low Hall Lane, Monday, Thursday and Friday;
Highams Park. Tuesday; and Higham Hill, Wednssday.
134 cases attended for massage, and these made 1,930
attendances.
