ANTE-NATAL ADMISSIONS.
There were 119 admissions during the ante-natal period this
year; 43 patients were delivered before discharge from the Hospital.
Reasons for Admission:—
Albuminuria and hyperpiesis 33
(Seven of these were re-admissions)
Pre-eclamptic condition 3
Eclampsia 1
Hyperpiesis 4
Hyperpiesis and hyperemesis 2
Hyperemesis 2
Oedema 1
Glycosuria 1
Cardiac condition 10
Ante-partum haemorrhage 8

In addition, two infants were admitted with their mothers; in
one case the mother was confined at home, but was admitted because
she was booked for admission here, in the other case the patient was
re-admitted after discharge for observation prior to transfer to a
Mental Hospital.
