Nurse Children.—At the end of 1939 there were 58 nurse
children on the register, compared with 108 at the end of 1938.
During the year 94 removed, 1 was adopted, and 25 reached the
age of nine years. 70 new children were registered. There were
no deaths among nurse children during 1939.
Massage.—Five massage sessions per week were held at the
Welfare Centres, i.e., Low Hall Lane, Monday, Thursday and
Friday; Highams Park, Tuesday; and Higham Hill, Wednesday.
197 cases attended for massage, and these made 1,932 attendances.
Sale of Milk, etc., at Clinics.—The quantity and value of
milk and food sold and issued free during 1939 was £1,784 7s. 4d.
WALTHAMSTOW CHILD WELFARE SOCIETY.
The organisation, staffing, and accommodation provided by the
Society was fully dealt with in the 1935 Report.
The work done during the calendar year is shown in the
following table compiled from information kindly supplied by
Miss O. M. Francis.
