AGE AND SEX AT DEATH.
Eight deaths occurred, details of which are given below:—
7 Pulmonary Tuberculosis Females, aged 49, 30, 22, 36, 21,
39 and 43 years.
1 Diphtheria (Heart Block) Male, aged 19 years.
Staff. —Members of the staff were admitted to hospital beds
suffering from the following complaints:-Purpura (1); Facial
Dermatitis (1); Tonsillitis (3); Intestinal Adhesions; (1); Varicose
Dermatitis (1); Abscess of Breast (1); Epistaxis (1); Injured Ankle
(1); Endocarditis (1); Jaundice (1); Common Cold (2); Dental
Abscess (1); Rubella (1).
Operations at Hospital.—One operation (Tracheotomy) was
performed.
Specialist Consultations.—Twelve consultant visits were
paid by six consultants, viz.:—C.S.M., 3; Heart Disease, 2;
Meningitis, 2; Mastoid, 2; Sinusitis, 2; Skin Trouble, 1.
Swabs.—345 swabs were taken and examined during the year
in the laboratory at the Hospital.

The following cases were transferred to Whipps Cross
Hospital:—
1 Cleft palate. 1 Drug eruption.
1 possible case of T.B. 1 Diabetes.
Meningitis. 1 to continue treatment of
anterior poliomyelitis.
Duration of Treatment.—The average duration of treatment
in Hospital was as follows:—
Diphtheria 40.6 days.
Scarlet Fever 23.1 days.
Other diseases 16.5 days.
