ENCEPHALITIS LETHARGICA
No case was notified during the year
FOOD POISONING
On© case brought to notice was that of a family consisting of
the parents and four children, all of whom partook of some duck
for dinner, following which the parents and two of the children
were taken ill All were again well on the following day and the
bacteriological investigation proved to be negative to microorganisms
of the Salmonella group
Another case reported from a Metropolitan Borough was that of
a person notified as suffering from food poisoning The food suspected
was purchased from a store in Walthamstow Immediate
inquiries were made and as no other cases had been reported in this
area it was considered that 110 further action was necessary
MEASLES
Under the Walthamstow (Measles) Regulations, 1932, all cases
of measles in children under 5 years of age are notifiable, except
secondary cases in the same household or institution within two
months of the primary case
