The discrepancy between the number of deaths recorded here
and the number of registered deaths during the calendar year is
accounted for by transferable deaths and by cases not notified
prior to death.
Treatment of Tuberculosis.
Treatment is given under the Essex County Council's Scheme.
The admissions to Hospital during 1933 were:-

No action was necessary under the Public Health (Prevention
of Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1925, or Section 62 of the Public
Health Act, 1925.
G.—INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL.
Renovations, etc.— The following works of renovation and
maintenance were carried out during 1933:-
Redecoration and renovation of Blocks D, E, F, and T. and of
Mortuary.
Redecoration and renovation of kitchens in Administrative
Block.
Provision of new bathroom in E Block.
Provision of 30 new ward lockers.
Provision of new boiler for main hot water system.
Provision of two new tennis courts.
Adaptation of former power house as laundry drying room.
