admitted to the Isolation Hospital for Diphtheria. The proportion
of virulent swabs appears to be surprisingly low and, when time
permits, it is hoped to correlate the swab results with the clinical
condition of the patients on admission to Hospital.
The ward of 14 beds in the convalescent Diphtheria block was
used between January 30th and April 15th for the reception of
complicated cases of Measles. The accommodation proved to be
insufficient and cases had to be refused.

The death rate per hundred admissions of infectious disease cases created a new low record during 1932, viz., 0.9. For comparison a summary of the figures for previous years is tabulated below:—
