(xi) Maternity and Nursing Homes.—The Byelaws adopted
by your Council at the end of 1931 were approved by the Ministry
of Health on 30th March, 1932, and prescribe the method of keeping
records of (a) patients received into and children born in the
homes; (b) dates of admission and discharge; (c) payments; (d)
fatal cases; (e) details of confinements; (/) clinical records; (g)
infectious diseases; (h) removal of children ; and (i) inquest findings.
During the year 7 additional maternity beds were registered
at the Walthamstow District Nursing Association's Home, bringing
the total accommodation there to 11 maternity beds, and 2 maternity
beds at Heathfield Nursing Home, bringing the total accommodation
there to 4 general, 7 maternity and 1 ante-natal beds.
The total accommodation in the Borough at the end of 1932,
therefore, was 29 beds for maternity cases, 9 beds for general
cases, and 1 ante-natal bed.
