1. Weekly Infant Welfare sessions at Higham Hill and
Highams Park and increased massage facilities.
Appointment of an additional Health Visitor.
2. An arrangement for the admission of certain cases of
Puerperal Fever and Pyrexia to Queen Charlotte's Hospital Isolation
Block at Hammersmith provided the patient pays the necessary fees.
3. The payment of a subsidy to the Walthamstow District
Nursing Association for the provision of
(a) Home nursing in certain cases of Puerperal Fever and
Pyrexia.
(b) An emergency midwife.
4. Provision of a Consulting Obstetrician in case of difficulty
during pregnancy, labour, or the puerperium.
5. The provision of a monthly consultative Ante-Natal Clinic
(provided under the Public Health Act).
6. Assistance in the provision of qualified midwives in order
to eliminate the handywoman.
The service cannot be considered to be really complete until
the proposed Maternity Home has been brought into use. The
appointment of a municipal midwife has been postponed until the
home is ready.
