and the number of registered deaths during the calendar year is
accounted for by transferable deaths and by cases not notified prior
to death.

Treatment of Tuberculosis.—Treatment is given under the Essex County Council's scheme. The admissions to Hospital during 931 were:—

No action was necessary under the Public Health (Prevention
of Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1925, or Section 62 of the Public
Health Act, 1925.
Prevention of Blindness.—No action was necessary under
Section 66 of the Public Health Amendment Act, 1925, for the
prevention of blindness or the treatment of persons suffering from
any disease of or injury to the eyes.
VII INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL.
The situation, accommodation and staffing of the Infectious
Diseases Hospital was fully described in the 1930 Report.
Improvements.—Gas utensil sterilisers were installed in
five blocks.
Two new bathrooms and 8 new washbasins were provided in
the cubicle block.
A new Kelvinator refrigerator, with automatic control, was
installed at a cost of £265.
