The 1930 totals are inserted for the purpose of comparison and
show welcome decreases, except in respect of Enteric Fever,
Pneumonia, Puerperal Fever and Pyrexia and Chicken Pox. The
very large increase in the incidence of the latter was of minor
importance as regards the public health, but took up a great amount
of time which could have been employed far more profitably in other
directions.
Of the total notifications the following were made by the Staff
of the Department:—
Smallpox, 28; Diphtheria, 93; Non-Clinical Diphtheria,
22; Scarlet Fever, 22; Chicken Pox, 313; Enteric
Fever, 3.
