Births.— Births are dealt with under the Maternity and Child
Welfare section of the Report.
Deaths.—The following table shows the Registrar-General's
classification of causes of death by sex totals. These have been
sub-divided locally, as accurately as possible, into age and ward
groups. The new classification given by the Registrar-General shows
36 main causes of death as compared with 32 in previous years:—
