In this report girls are in the preponderance, accounting for
53 per cent, of all cases.
The girls show a higher percentage of Hypermetropia, 68 per
cent, to the boys 62 per cent., while the boys show a higher percentage
of Myopia, 38 per cent, to the girls' 32 per cent.

The above table shows the nature and sex incidence of these
diseases and defects.
Fifteen children were admitted to the Myope Centre during the
year and there are now 64 on the Register, of which 28 are "Blind
within the Act."
Discharging Ears and Deafness.—Discharge from the Ear may
result from a variety of causes, some trivial, others serious, and
as it constitutes one of the most dangerous of the "Minor Ailments"
its effectual treatment is important.
