NEONATAL MORTALITY.— The death-rate of infants under four
weeks of age is known as the Neonatal Mortality. There were 39 deaths of
infants under four weeks of age during 1963 and the rate for the year was
14.2 per 1.000 live births.

registered (77 males and 63 females) were illegitimate, that is 5.1% of
the births registered.
