(v) BIOLOGICAL TESTS. - No samples of milk were
submitted to a biological test for tuberculosis.
(vi) MILK AND DAIRIES ORDERS, 1926 AND 1938:
INSPECTION OF DAIRY HERDS. - Two examinations were
made by the Veterinary Officers of the Ministry of Agriculture,
Fisheries and Food. The Ministry's Divisional
Officer states that no cows were found to be suffering from
tuberculosis. No samples of milk were sent for bacteriological
examination.
(vii) LEGAL PROCEEDINGS. - 6 complaints of the
presence of foreign bodies in milk were received and investigated.
Legal proceedings were taken in one instance and
a fine of 40s. plus 20s. costs was imposed, and representations
were made to the retailers in all cases. Three of the complaints
are detailed in the paragraph on Food and Drug sampling.
(viii) REGISTRATION. - No application for registration
was refused during the year.

(i) REGISTRATION.
Section 158, Essex County Council Act, 1933. In
1948, the Council delegated to the Public Health Committee
