Rheumatism Clinic.
The Physician attended 32 morning sessions during the year, and 210 children (85 of these being new cases) made 395 attendances. The 210 children were found to be suffering from the following conditions: —

Speech Clinic.—Mrs. C. H. Mclntyre resigned her appointment as
part-time Speech Therapist on 5th July, 1950. Miss P. M. Lough increased
her number of sessions from five to seven with effect from 5th September,
1950.
By the end of the year, 128 individual children of school age had
received speech therapy at this Clinic, making a total of 1,812 attendances.
The defects treated were as follows:—
Stammering 57
Dyslalia 61
Cleft Palate 1
Post Operative- (Tonsillectomy)
Dysarthria 1
Dysphonia 1
84 children of school age were discharged from the Clinic during the
year. In 58 cases the speech was normal. Of the remaining 26 cases, 21
ceased to attend for treatment, 5 left school or left the district.
Continuity of after treatment is secured with the co-operation of
teachers who have been supplied with an explanatory memorandum on the
subject prepared by the Speech Therapist.
