Illegitimate Births and Deaths.—110 of the live births registered (60
males and 50 females) were illegitimate, that is 3.3 per cent, of the births
registered.
Four illegitimate children died under one year of age from the following
causes:-
Atelectasis Pulmonum, aged 8 hours.
Broncho-Pneumonia, aged 21 days.
Broncho-Pneumonia, Pertussis, aged 7 weeks.
Prematurity, aged 10 hours.
The infant mortality rate of illegitimate children was 36.8 per 1,000,
compared with the infant mortality rate of 23.9 for legitimate children.
