(а) Smallpox.—No case of Smallpox occurred. Notification of 32
persons who had been in contact with cases of Smallpox were received.
These were visited by the Sanitary Inspectors for the usual period.
The following gives particulars as to Vaccination during 1945:—

(b) Scarlet Fever.—225 cases were notified in 1945. There were no
deaths from this disease.

(c) Diphtheria.—63 cases were notified in 1945. There were 2 deaths
from Diphtheria during the year, both at the Ilford Isolation Hospital.
In neither case had the patient been immunised against Diphtheria. One was
admitted in a moribund condition and the other on the fifth day after onset
of the disease.
