The treatment of Tuberculosis is under the control of the Essex County
Council. On the 31st December, 1943, there were 950 patients on the
register of the dispensary.
The arrangements made with the Essex County Council for the dental
treatment of tuberculosis patients from Ilford, Romford, Leyton, Walthamstow,
Barking and Dagenham were continued. Two afternoon sessions
per month were set aside for the treatment of these cases. 101 patients
were treated, 13 being supplied with dentures.
The Council's Dentist also treated 20 tuberculosis patients from the
Ilford Sanatorium.

Cases of Tuberculosis, on notification, are visited by the Tuberculosis Nurse of the Essex County Council. 993 of the cases of longer standing were visited by the Sanitary Inspectors during the year, a visit being made to each patient every six months. The following reports were obtained:—

Tuberculosis Care Association.—This Association has assisted 76 cases
with extra nourishment, clothing, and in other ways.
