attended at the stations and was available for first aid assistance

Liaison has been maintained with the reception areas, any
necessary medical records being sent, and arrangements made for
children's admission to hospital or convalescent home on recommendation
by the Medical Officer of the particular reception area.
Further, considerable numbers of children were recommended at
the reception areas for dental treatment, and the School Nurses visited
the home addresses of the children to obtain the necessary parental
consents, which when received were forwarded to the reception area
authorities who carried out the required treatment. A similar procedure
has been adopted in regard to Diphtheria Immunisation.
Children evacuated under the Supplementary Evacuation Scheme
in November and December were medically examined a day or so
prior to their departure to the Reception Areas.
