On receipt of a notification of infectious disease a visit
is paid to the house by a Sanitary Inspector, and information
obtained as to its possible cause. The water and milk
supply is investigated and the names of persons who have
been in contact with the case. Careful search is also made
for the existence of any nuisance. All the particulars are
reported to the Medical Officer of Health, who then takes
any further steps which may be necessary.
