On March 7th, 1912, I seized a forequarter of beef
affected with tubercle, and also part of the flank similarly
affected, at a butcher's shop in Ley Street, since closed. I
was informed that the other half of the carcase was at
another butcher's shop in another part of the district. I
visited this shop and seized the forequarter, a portion of the
flank, and also a part of the lungs, as all being affected with
tubercle. Action was taken under Section 117 of the Public
Health Act, 1875, and fines amounting to ^3 and costs
were inflicted in each instance.
