Your Board also entered into a contract with the Improved
Wood Pavement Company, Limited, for the maintenance
of the west side of Bloomsbury Square for a further
period of fifteen years from 13th September, 1890, at an
annual charge of 10d per yard superficial, this being 2d.
a yard supeficial less than the agreed amount under the
original contract.
Obstructive Spur Stones.
The question of the inconvenience and obstruction caused
to the traffic by the existence of granite spur stones placed
against certain of the lamp-posts and guard posts in the
District was considered by your Board, who ultimately
resolved " That all such spur stones as are obstructive
should be removed."
The work of removing these stones has since been commenced,
and will be carried on from time to time as circumstances
permit.
