Sanitary Work.
The details of the works which have been carried out under
the Sanitary and N uisances Removal Acts, and in connection
with the regulations made by the Board as to houses let in
lodgings or occupied by members of more than one family,
will be found in the report of the Medical Officer of Health.
In a few cases proceedings have been necessary ; in these it

In 16' of these cases proceedings were taken before Police
Magistrates. In the other cases the adulteration was of so
trifling a nature that the vendors were simply cautioned. In
all cases that were dealt with by Magistrates convictions
were obtained. The total amount of fines and costs received
was £14 14s. 7d.
Dr. Redwood continues to act as Analyst to the Board,
having been re-appointed on the 22nd day of July, 1890.
His report of the work done under the Act will be found at
page 23.

Inspector, having resigned, the work connected with the purchasing
