The death-rate for St. Giles District was equal to 2'4 per 1,000, and
considerably below the average.
The total number of deaths in the three orders were 157, of which
114 were children under 5 years of age.
I will now discuss these deaths under the heads of their respective
diseases.
Order I.— Miasmatic.
Small-pox.— No deaths were recorded from this disease during the
last year (decennial average 141).
Ten mild cases were removed to Fulham Hospital, all of which
recovered.
The following annual return relative to vaccination in the District
has been kindly sent to me by Mr. Yardley, the Vaccination Officer
of the Guardians.
