QUESTION 2.
What was the condition of the Drainage of the
district in 1856 ; and what is it now ?
ANSWER.
This Parish was (in 1856) almost wholly undrained,
except into offensive open Sewers several miles in extent,
now arched over or abolished.
What is it now ?
ANSWER.
The permanent Sewerage of the Parish is complete as
far as the localities built upon require. Those portions not
yet Sewered are of a rural character.
