The General Purposes Committee beg to Report to
the Vestry, as follows:—

New Roads.

The undermentioned "New Roads'' have been taken under the control of the Vestry and repaired, viz.:—

Length in yards.
Camden grove North442
East Surrey grove423
Cator Street417
Gatton Road297
Carlton Grove (part of)153

The subject of "New Roads," as the Vestry is
aware, has received the careful and constant attention
of your Committee, with the view of extending the
advantages of these very desirable Works as much as
practicable, and of collecting the large amount of
arrears due on roads which have been already executed.
In conducting these matters, your Committee has had
to combat many legal and technical difficulties which
from time to time have arisen in connection with
this peculiar description of work; and, with reference
to which, it may be remarked, this Parish has not been
at all singular. Your Committee, however, now have
much pleasure in reporting that the course to be pursued
in future in these matters is much simplified—the
legal and other requirements being better understood
