The position regarding the four children under 16 on the
register as at 31st December 1970 is as follows:
Three are attending special schools for the blind and partially
sighted, and the remaining child is in a hospital for mentally subnormal
children.
262 persons out of the total of 320 (82 per cent) on the blind
register are over the age of 60.
