The interest and encouragement of the Chairman and members of
the Health and Welfare Committee and the Council is acknowledged
with gratitude as is the co-operation of the Chief Officers and members
of staff of other departments. I welcome the opportunity to refer to
the help of the Medical Officer of Health and to the loyalty of our
staff in a year when sickness caused everyone to carry an additional
burden.
