(b) Occupational Therapy - Handicapped
The services continue to operate from the Occupational
Therapy Centre at 104 Westbury Road, New Maiden, and the classes that
were held until the end of April when a senior occupational therapist
resigned for personal reasons, were as follows:
Number of persons
attending
Tuesday (all day) 16-18
Wednesday (morning) Art Class 6
Wednesday (afternoon) 12
Thursday (afternoon) 10
Friday (afternoon) 12
After this date, there was a variation in the classes and
the Thursday afternoon craft class had to be discontinued, but an
outwork class was substituted.
Another occupational therapist resigned for personal reasons
at the end of October which meant a further curtailment of the craft
classes, but in their places were substituted outwork classes.
The small number of handicapped persons who attended for
craft classes continued to produce articles that were saleable through
the trade and orders have continued to be received.
A wide range of crafts continued to be taught at this centre,
