The total persons on the register are as shown in the table on page 77 and they can be mainly classified as under:

(b) General Welfare
The service for the deaf and hard of hearing continued to
be given particular attention by the male social welfare officer prior
to going on the course, and since then the general welfare has been
maintained by the other social welfare officers in the department.

(a) The Register of Handicapped Persons - other than Blind.
