HEALTH EDUCATION
Expansion in the field of health education continued
throughout 1968. Mrs. K.L. Sewell was appointed health education
officer on 17th April to replace Dr. Mary L. Goodyear who had resigned
on 7th January. In addition to the health education officer and her
assistant, many field workers carry out health education during the
normal course of their work in the community. There is now a good
supply of audio-visual material available. Throughout the year there
has been a succession of poster displays at clinics and on public
notice boards, and 1,314 talks and discussions were held at clinics,
clubs, schools and various premises of voluntary organisations. The
themes of these displays were changed each month as follow:

February - Infectious Diseases
March - Cancer
April - Diet - Bias on Obesity
May - Dental Health
June - First Aid
July - Holiday Safety and Litter
August - Mental Health Service
