Occupational Therapy
This service operates from the Occupational Therapy Centre,
104 Westbury Road, New Maiden. Surrey County Council were unable
to hand over the centre on the 1st April 1965 as their new centre
which was being erected at Leatherhead was not completed, and the
centre was still being shared with the County Council at the end of
the year.
An occupational therapy class and an art class have been
held at fortnightly intervals throughout the year and interest was
well maintained, the patients undertaking a great variety of work.
These classes were in the main held in the Methodist Church Hall,
Ewell Road, Surbiton. By arrangement with the Surrey County Council
a specially adapted ambulance vehicle was provided to collect
patients from their homes and take them to the centre. It is an
intention that these classes should be enlarged and will be held in
the Council's own centre.
