Speech Therapy
The staff comprises the senior speech therapist, Mrs. D.
Freedman, and the equivalent of 1.9 other full-time speech therapists.
The year has seen considerable re-organisation of the speech
therapy service and a gradual growth in the numbers of children
referred for treatment. Speech therapy sessions are held in all the
major clinics in the borough. Twenty-nine sessions per week were
provided, including the separate arrangements for treatment at the
Bedelsford and St.Philip's special schools. In addition to clinical
work the therapists have held two meetings and hope to continue this
practice next year to discuss common problems and keep up to date with
new equipment and the current trends in treatment.
