Medical Officer of Health of the Borough:-
Scarlet Fever
Whooping Cough
Diphtheria (including Membranous Croup)
Measles (excluding Rubella)
Acute Pneumonia (Primary or Influenzal)
Meningococcal Infection
Acute Poliomyelitis - Paralytic

Acute Encephalitis - Infective
„ „ Post Infectious
Dysentery
Ophthalmia Neonatorum
Puerperal pyrexia
Smallpox
Para-Typhoid Fevers
Enteric or Typhoid Fever (excluding Para-Typhoid)
Food Poisoning
Erysipelas
Malaria
Cholera
Plague
Typhus Fever
Relapsing Fever
Tuberculosis
Anthrax
Leprosy is notifiable by General Medical Practitioners direct
to the Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of Health.
In 1961 a total of 560 notifications of infectious disease was
received, and these are analysed and commented upon in the following
tables and reports.
