(e) Meat and Other Foods.
(i) There are no slaughterhouses in the Borough. The supply of
meat for the town arrives from Smithfield and through the local wholesale
shops. A certain amount of home killed meat also comes from the
modern abattoir at Guildford.
(ii) Foodstuffs condemned as unfit.
The following tabulated statement shows the amounts of various
foods which were condemned during the year and the causes for condemnation.
The quantities involved are small in comparison with the amount
of food which is handled in the town. The list is very much condensed
to avoid unnecessary detail.
