(f) Food Hygiene.
Food Hygiene Regulations, 1955. During the period under
review the supervision of food premises continued satisfactorily.
The standard which has been achieved is the measure of the cooperation
which exists between the managements concerned and the
Public Health Inspectors. In the catering and food retailing
trade there are frequent changes of staff. In such circumstances
regular routine visiting by the Public Health Inspectors is
essential to ensure the continuance of satisfactory methods of
food hygiene.
When plans and proposals are submitted for the alteration
of existing, or the establishment of new, businesses, it is
possible to ensure that the premises will comply with the
Regulations in the first instance. This service is appreciated
by the proprietors.
