weighed on a weighbridge and approximately 11,000 tons of
refuse per annum is sent from this Borough.
A small quantity of suitable trade refuse. together with
road sweepings and scarified materials, is disposed of by controlled
tipping in the old bed of the Hogsmill River. The
Corporation's refuse destructor has not operated since 1st
March, 1951. During the year no complaints were received
in respect of any refuse tip in the Borough.
