/ Attendances are recorded, for the purpose of this
report from June, 1943> "being the date the nurseries
were approved officially as war-time nurseries.
/ Figures for St. Peter's up to and including 9.6.45 when
nursery was closed.
x Kilnwood Nursery admissions were stopped from 7.7.45 to
21.7.45 owing to the prevalence of measles and whooping
cough in the district. Admissions restarted on 23.7.45.
+ Figures for Fairfield are for 1.1.46 to 31.3.46 when
Nursery was taken over by Surrey County Council.
The greatest difficulty is experienced in recruiting
suitably qualified persons, and the staff is seldom up to
full establishment. Staff is chosen with special reference
to their experience in the handling of children under the
age of five years. The essentials of adequate nutrition
have been carefully watched in the diet of the children.
I gratefully acknowledge the hard work carried out by
all those working in the Nurseries.
