(e) Hospitals.
(1) Infectious Disease. An arrangement exists with the
Wimbledon Corporation whereby cases nay be admitted to the
Wimbledon Isolation Hospital, and payment is made by the
Kingston Corporation for the maintenance of patients. Owing
to staffing difficulties and the need for conservation of
accommodation, it has been necessary to send patients to other
hospitals. During the year 77 cases were admitted as
follows:-
To Wimbledon Isolation Hospital 68
To Tolworth Isolation Hospital 8
To Barnes Isolation Hospital 1
(2) Smallpox. The Surrey Smallpox Hospital, East
Clandon (Surrey County Council).
(3) Other. Genral Hospitals situated in the Borough
available for the District are:-
The Kingston County Hospital (Surrey County Council).
The Kingston Victoria Hospital, supported by voluntary
contribut ions.
The Corporation made a contribution of £50 to the
Kingston Victoria Hospital during 1946.
