A mid-day hot meal is provided at a charge of 3d., or
less, and any financial loss has been met out of a voluntary
fund.
The children are under the supervision of the School
Medical Officer, who, as a routine practice, examines them
at least twice each term, and certain individual cases more
frequently as circumstances require.
Dental inspection and treatment was carried out during
the year, and children needing orthopœdic treatment attend
the Red Cross Curative Post, Norbiton, under the visiting
Orthopaedic Specialist.
The following is a brief summary of the work carried
out in this Special School.—

Sixteen physically defective children received hampers
from the Treloar Chidren's Christmas Hamper Fund.
On December 22nd the distribution of the hampers was
very kindy made by the Mayor and Mayoress at the Open
Air School.
EMPLOYMENT OF CHILDREN
The School Medical Officer examines all applicants and
issues certificates as to their physical fitness.
During the year eighty-three school children over 12
years of age were issued with certificates under the Byelaws
permitting their employment.
