No action was found to be necessary in connection with
the above.
SECTION D
HOUSING
Statistics relating to action taken under the Housing
Acts have been prepared on lines suggested in Circular 1650
issued by the Minister of Health and are shewn on pages 24
and 25. In addition, the summaries that have appeared in
previous annual reports shewing the action taken in regard
to (a) clearance areas, and (b) "individual" houses found
to be unfit for human habitation, have been revised again
to shew the positions at the end of 1937.
The following table gives particulars of building development
during the year :—
(1) Number of new houses erected by the
Corporation during the year ended 31st
December, 1937 32 Flats
(2) Number of houses erected by private
enterprise during the year ended 31st
December, 1937 70 Houses

(3) Total number of houses for the workingclasses
erected by the Corporation since
