(3) Rat poison was laid in sewer manholes in various
parts of the Borough, and investigation showed that the
baits were taken in many cases.
(4) Advice was given to several enquirers on the
best methods for exterminating rats.
The action taken by your Corporation should act as
an incentive to others, and it is safe to assume that if
everyone followed the example given, the rat population
in the Borough would be very much reduced.
The baiting of sewers proved very successful, and will
be continued from time to time during the present year and
not only during Rat Week.
CONCLUSION
I desire to thank you, Madam Chairman, and the
Members of the Public Health Committee and Corporation
generally, for your continued consideration and support,
and your other Officers who have afforded me assistance
and information whenever required.
T am. Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
HAROLD T. PERRY, f.s.i.a., m.r.s.i.,
Chief Sanitary Inspector.
Guildhall,
Kingston-upon-Thames.
