HOUSE DRAINAGE.
Sixty-eight houses were completely redrained during
the year, as compared with 33 during 1930.
The large increase in this work was due principally
to the investigation of nearly the whole of one side of York
Road, as the result of which 25 houses were redrained.
This work took up a great deal of time, but the result fully
justified the effort. The same comment applies to the block
of twelve two-roomed houses in Park Road, all of which
were redrained.
In several instances the premises were drained by means
of systems of combined drains, and these cases necessitated
careful and extended negotiation with the owner or owners
concerned.
The following list shows the situation and numbers of premises redrained during the year:—
Acre Road | 5 |
Ashdown Road | I |
Borough Road (including St. Paul's School) | 7 |
