A certified copy of this notice signed by the Infant Life
Protection Visitor as to the date of service is retained.
On April 1st there were 23 foster mothers on the
Register in charge of 32 infants. Up to the end of the year
4 new registrations were approved and 4 foster mothers
either removed from the Borough or ceased to have charge
of infants.
Registration was cancelled in respect of one foster
mother on account of overcrowding, but subsequently she
was re-registered when the overcrowding had been abated,
and she had put her premises into a satisfactory condition.
On December 31st there were 23 foster mothers on the
Register in charge of 33 infants.
It is the routine duty of an Infant Life Protection Visitor
to visit every foster mother at least once a month, and
more frequently when found necessary.
From April 1st to the end of the year 355 visits were
paid, and the extra work entailed has been most satisfactorily
carried out by the Health Visitors.
