SCAVENGING.
The removal and disposal of house refuse is undertaken
by the Borough Surveyor's Department.
Refuse is partly tipped, and the remainder is burnt in
the Dust Destructor.
CLOSET ACCOMMODATION.
All Closets in the Borough are on the Water Carriage
System.
SCHOOLS.
A general review of the sanitary condition of the Public
Elementary Schools was given in 1925. The repairs and
improvements carried out during 1930 will be found in the
Annual Report of the School Medical Officer.
HOUSING.
A general survey of the Borough was carried out by
the Sanitary Inspector and myself, when it was found that
the general standard of housing was good, and there were
no areas which came within the meaning of "Clearance"
Areas (Housing Act, 1930).
The Borough is almost entirely built over, and the
houses are contiguous with those of adjacent areas.
The Sanitary Inspector, Mr. H. T. Perry, reports as
follows:—
Overcrowding.
(a) Seven cases of overcrowding were found during
1930.
(b) Four cases were abated during 1930.
(c) Five cases were remaining on the registers at the
end of the year.

House-to-House Inspections.

No special areas were dealt with during the year, but 28 premises were inspected in the following roads:—
