EMPLOYMENT OF CHILDREN.
The School Medical Officer examines all applicants and
issues certificates as to their physical fitness.
During- the year 77 school children and 5 young persons
were issued with certificates under the Bye-laws.
GARDENING CENTRES.
There are Gardening Centres in connection with the
following schools :—
Bonner Hill Road Boys' School.
Richmond Road Boys' School.
St. John's Boys' School.
St. Paul's Boys' School.
All Saints' Boys' School.
"Elmfield " Special School.
SCHOOL JOURNEY.
St. Peter's Girls' School.
Again the Head Teacher, Miss A. Thompson, and her
assistants were able by their work to raise sufficient funds
to take a party of 30 girls to Broadstairs for a week.
In all 35 girls, five of whom paid their own expenses,
proceeded to the St. Mary's Convalescent Home, Broadstairs,
on June 22nd, and returned on the 29th, after a most
enjoyable holiday.
The benefit to the poorer children by this invaluable
work cannot be over-estimated, and I understand that the
Head Teacher hopes to be able to take even a larger party
next summer.
