Stables and Yards.
One hundred and five visits were made to stables and
yards during the year, with a view to the provision and
maintenance of proper manure receptacles. This work is
important as there can be no doubt that a relationship
exists between the breeding of flies and the improper storage
of manure. The time occupied by this work proved fruitful
and no less than 22 new receptacles were constructed.
Smoke Abatement
Four complaints were received during the year in
respect of alleged nuisance from smoke.
In three instances a nuisance was proved to exist.
In each case the nuisance was abated after consultation
with the owners.
Conclusion.
I again desire to thank the Chairman and the members
of the Public Health Committee and the Corporation
generally for their kindly consideration and support during
the year.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
HAROLD T. PERRY, A.R.San.I.',
Chief Sanitary Inspector.
Municipal Offices,
Kingston-upon-Thames.
March, 1924.
