F. Legal Proceedings
1960
Legal proceedings were instituted under lie Food Hygiene Regulations, 1955 in two cases where
defendants were fined :
1) £10 in each respect of 2 contraventions of Regulation 23.
2) £25 in respect of contravention of Regulations 9 and 32.
1961
(i) Legal Proceedings were instituted in a case of a firm selling Mock Salmon Cutlets containing
insufficient fish.
(ii) Legal Proceedings 26.9.61 - Contravention of Bye-Law No. 2 County Borough East Ham Byelaws
made in pursuance of Section 82 Public Health Act, 1936 (Tankers causing smells).
8 prosecutions £3 penalty on 7 cases, 1 dismissed.
14. 11.61 Contravention of Bye-law No. 2a and 2b of County Borough of East Ham Bye-laws
made in pursuance of Section 82 Public Health Act, 1936.

G. Hairdressers

The numbers of hairdressers registered in accordance with the East Ham Corporation Act 1957, were as follows:-

H. Caravans
There are no licensed caravan sites in the Borough, but action was taken immediately upon
information brought to our notice that itinerant caravans had pulled up on to grass verges and by
means of persuasion, the caravans were removed in the course of a day or two. It was not necessary
to institute legal proceedings in respect of any case.
